NOTE
If multiple charging stations are connected to a common
EN
main power supply point, there is a risk of overload.
A phase rotation must be provided and adapted to the
connection configuration of the charging station. See on-
line configuration manual: https://webasto-charging.com/
documentation.
Insert the data line into the designated connection in
u
the interface area.
Remove any soiling such as insulation trimmings out of
u
the connection area.
Check again for firm attachment of all wires in the cor-
u
responding terminal.
Now position the cable gland grommets in the housing
u
lead-through (note: Make sure that no air-gaps de-
velop).

Initial start-up
6.5.1
Safety check
Document the results of the checks and measurements
carried out during initial start-up corresponding to the ap-
plicable installation requirements and standards.
The local regulations relating to operation, installation
and environmental protection also apply.
6.5.2
Start-up procedure
u
Switch on power supply:
– Start sequence is activated (duration up to 60 s).
– The LED initially lights up red for approx. 30 s and
then flashes red-green-blue at one-second intervals.
(Operating status N1). The successful start-up process
ends with a beep, and the LED indicator on the char-
ging station changes to blue or red. (Depends on local
electrical installation). See chapter 7.1.1, "Operating
conditions".
Perform the configuration. The charging station is pre-
u
configured at the factory with a basic setting; for other
settings, refer to the online configuration instructions,
which can be found at: https://webasto-
charging.com/documentation).
u
Perform initial operation check and record measured
values in test log. An EV simulator is used for the
measurement at the charging coupling.
30
u
Check the internal and external residual circuit current
breakers, see chapter 6.5.3, "Checking the internal and
external residual circuit current breakers".
u
Test the charging station as per country-specific install-
ation regulations, standards and legal requirements
and record the values in an installation test log.
u
After passing the test, close the connection area with
the designated cover. Use the 3 x 20 mm screws for
this.
DANGER
High voltages
Danger of fatal electric shock. Danger of confusion with
the drainage holes.
Tighten the screws up to the bearing face. See Fig. 5.
u
Use the hole positions shown.
Connect the charging cable to the vehicle.
u
– Depending on the authentication settings, the LED
changes from blue to green. See chapter 7.4, "Au-
thentication at the charging station".
6.5.3
Checking the internal and external residual
circuit current breakers
Test sequence, phase 1:
3 probe measurements (L1-N-PE; L2-N-PE; L3-N-PE) of the
AC residual current to trip the type-B RCD fitted on the in-
stallation side, and 3 probe measurements (L1-N-PE; L2-
N-PE; L3-N-PE) of the DC residual current to trip the type-
B RCD fitted on the installation side at the contacts in the
actuation shaft of the spring-loaded terminals (smaller
opening at top); the time to trip [ms] and the trip current
[mA] are documented for each of the 6 measurements.
Starting situation for phase 2:
As for phase 1, but now an EV simulator is connected to
the charging cable, which simulates the status C (EV char-
ging) on the charging station. This means that voltage is
present at the charging cable and thus at the test sockets
of the EV simulator (closed relay in the charging station)
Test sequence, phase 2:
3 measurements plugged into the test sockets of the EV
simulator (L1-N-PE; L2-N-PE; L3-N-PE) of the AC residual
current to trip the sensor and 3 measurements plugged
into the test sockets of the EV simulator (L1-N-PE; L2-N-
PE; L3-N-PE) of the DC residual current to trip the sensor;
the time to trip [ms] and the trip current [mA] are docu-
mented for each of the 6 measurements.
In phase 2 it is not necessarily the case that the sensor ac-
tually reacts "faster" (i.e. when the AC or DC residual cur-
rent is lower or the trip time is shorter). It is quite possible
for the RCD on the installation side to react here too.
We recommended carrying out the 3 measurements (L1-
N-PE; L2-N-PE; L3-N-PE) for loop impedance/fault current
of the line circuit breaker at the same time during phase 2
and documenting these.
