WARNINGS:

RECOMMENDED IN THE TABLE BELOW TO CLEAN ANY PART OF THE
TRACHEOSTOMY TUBE, AS THIS MAY RESULT IN TUBE DAMAGE.
DO NOT SOAK ANY PART OF THE TUBE IN HYDROGEN PEROXIDE OR ANY OTHER
SOLUTION.

Disposable Decannulation Plug (DDCP)
The red Disposable Decannulation Plug (DDCP) is a universal size that fits all Shiley
Disposable models. The disposable decannulation plug occludes the proximal end of
the outer cannula, forcing the patient to breathe through the fenestrations and upper
airway tract during the weaning process.
WARNINGS:
USE THE DISPOSABLE DECANNULATION PLUG (DDCP) ONLY IN SHILEY
DISPOSABLE FENESTRATED LOW PRESSURE CUFFED (DFEN), CUFFLESS (DCFS),
AND CUFFLESS FENESTRATED (DCFN) TRACHEOSTOMY TUBES.
PRIOR TO INSERTING THE DISPOSABLE DECANNULATION PLUG (DDCP) MAKE
SURE THAT THE FENESTRATIONS ARE NOT OCCLUDED, THAT THE CUFF (DFEN)
IS COMPLETELY DEFLATED AND THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT AIRWAY FOR THE
PATIENT.
DO NOT CLEAN OR REUSE.
DO NOT CLEAN. RINSE GENTLY WITH
STERILE, NORMAL SALINE. AIR DRY.
1. CLEAN WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
(HALF-STRENGTH), STERILE NORMAL
SALINE, OR WATER AND MILD
DETERGENT.
2. AFTER CLEANING THOROUGHLY RINSE
WITH STERILE SALINE TO REMOVE ANY
CLEANING SOLUTION RESIDUES.
