The parts used for preparing Pasta are: the Base, Large Shielded
Colander (optional for draining and serving) and the Shielded
Cover (optional for serving).
• Place pasta and pour water in the Base. The maximum amount of
pasta to add is indicated by the step in the base. The maximum
amount of water to add after the pasta is indicated by the "MAX"
line located under the Cooking pasta Logo (
choose to fill the Base with less pasta than the indicated step,
always fill with water until the "MAX" level (1).
• Cook Pasta without covering the Base; microwave at
max 900 watts (2).
• Never add oil, butter or any other fat to the water as it would
damage your product.
• For microwave cooking times, please refer to the "3.2.1 Pasta
Cooking Times chart". Adjust the microwave cooking time with
a few minutes (never exceeding the maximum of 30 min. total
cooking time) to suit your personal taste, microwave settings and
pasta type (Fig. G).
• Remove the Base carefully from your microwave oven by holding
it with both hands safely on the handles and using oven gloves.
Use the Large Shielded Colander for draining (3) in the sink.

• For best results when Cooking Pasta:
• Always make sure there is water in the Base while
microwaving.
• Do not cover while cooking in the microwave as it would
cause overflowing.
• For better results it is recommended not to stir the pasta during
the cooking process. Should the pasta stick together after
cooking, try and rinse it with hot tap water right away.
• Pasta with high starch content might get sticky during cooking.
In that case it is recommended to rinse it after cooking.
• We do not recommend cooking pasta which indicates cooking
times of less than 6 min. or over 14 min., or fresh and instant pasta.
The taste and texture might not be satisfactory.
• We do not recommend cooking certain types of pasta in
the Micro Urban Millennial e.g., tagliatelle nests, vermicelli,
cannelloni, gnocchi, very small sized pasta and gluten free
types. These types of pasta may overflow or stick together.
