You can modify the prestress applied to the headset bearings using the reversible ring②
obtain more or less fluid steering. The direction of this ring is shown by the marking «This side
up: Maximal load on steering headset».

If you want less firm or more firm steering when you turn the bike's handlebars, first check
that the headset assembly is correctly fitted, as described above. If it is correctly fitted you can
turn the reversible ring over by putting it with the marking downwards to reduce the headset

prestress.
If your steering shows slight play with the ring markings downwards it can be removed by
orienting the ring with markings upwards so as to place the marking upward.
GENERAL TOLERANCES :
Dimension from 0 to 15 : ±0.15
Dimension from 15 to 30 : ±0.20
Beyond : ±0.25
Angles : ±30'
Surfaces finish : 80 grit sand blast
Free of positive metal, voids and porosity
Free of cutting oil and oil residue
