i Ventricular Auto-threshold
The Auto-threshold function allows automatic adjustment of the
amplitude of ventricular pacing, according to a threshold test
performed by the device at regular intervals.
Examples: 1. If the Auto-threshold function is programmed to "Auto,"
the ventricular pacing amplitude is programmed to twice the pacing
threshold. If the threshold search is not successful, the ventricular
pacing amplitude is forced to 5 V. 2. When the Auto-threshold
function is programmed to "Monitor," the programmed ventricular
pacing amplitude value is preserved.
Warning: Certain drugs can greatly increase the pacing threshold.
The ventricular Auto-threshold function should be used with caution,
properly adjusting the minimal ventricular amplitude.
Programming constraint: The ventricular Auto-threshold function is
not programmable when the rest AV delay is less than or equal to
-1
110 ms and/or when the basic rate is equal to 95 min
.
i Anti-PMT protection
Protection against Pacemaker-Mediated Tachycardia (PMT) can be
provided for all patients with retrograde ventriculoatrial conduction
without reducing atrial sensing capability.
Examples: 1. Palliative protection (permanently applicable). The
pacemaker does not trigger an AV delay on a P wave detected within
500 ms following an asynchronous ventricular event. 2. Termination
mode ("TERMIN" option). The pacemaker can identify these PMTs
based on the stability of the VP interval (from ventricular paced beat
to retrograde P wave). Once a PMT has been confirmed, the
pacemaker lengthens the atrial refractory period in order to reduce
the PMT. 3. Reprogramming mode ("REPROG" option). In the event
of recurrent PMTs, the pacemaker permanently shortens the rest and
exercise AV delays.
