Unit description and function
10 LED modules in a fully mirrored chamber are used to complete the final polymerization of the material
being cured. The 50 high-power LEDs emit light radiation in the visible violet range (397 nm peak) as well as
in the blue range (450 nm peak), which are optimally matched to the Kulzer materials in terms of wavelength
and power. Homogeneous light output is achieved at every point of the chamber through the full mirroring.
The display shows all indicators for setting and controlling the unit functions. 3 interactive buttons below
the display are used to operate the unit.
NO UV light (< 380 nm) with significant power is emitted. Nevertheless, safety goggles to
protect the eyes against bright light radiation during operation are being provided.

A printed copy of the 'cara Cure Guide' is provided with the unit and corresponds to the date of manufacture.

This document contains detailed polymerization parameters for Kulzer photopolymers to ensure optimal
results and safety, prevent damage and achieve biocompatibility. The material details are included in the
unit software.
The operator is responsible for regularly checking the 'cara Cure Guide' for currentness and, if updates are
available, to download them as well as the corresponding software from the Internet and use the unit's
micro-USB interface or program app to run them on the unit. Carefully follow chapters 8.4 to 8.7 for these
individual activities.
The pre-set Kulzer programs are permanently stored with the name of the application and parameters
(power, temperature and time). Each customer is able to create and save individual programs in parallel
(power, temperature and time). The allocated customer programs are numbered consecutively - the names
cannot be edited individually.
The corresponding button is pressed to start a program. Exposure starts after the rotating plate located in the
curing chamber begins to turn, the heating warms the chamber and the target temperature is reached. The
remaining program runtime is shown in the display.
The sliding door is not locked during the program and is monitored by a limit switch. If the door is opened
during the program run, the LEDs are switched off and an error message is displayed. Operation does not
resume after the door is closed. The program is cancelled and must be restarted for safety. Likewise, it is
not possible to start the program if the door is open.
The display shows when the time has elapsed and is accompanied by an sound signal.
The chamber is actively warmed by a heating register and is temperature-controlled. The item temperature
is also affected in parallel by the LED power setting and the absorption of the light radiation. This is very
much dependent on the material, and the LED power and temperature parameters must be individually
evaluated and set for customer programs.
Gloves are recommended to protect against burns caused by the potentially very warm
items after polymerization. Use suitable tools (tweezers / forceps) to insert or remove the
items.
Do not place or cure items in the unit that still contain residues or adhering material from
flammable solvents or cleaning fluids and are not completely dry.
To clean the interior, rotating plate and the LED modules, see section 9, 'Cleaning'.
The item(s) are placed on the rotating plate in the chamber. There are no restrictions – except for the center of
the rotating plate – when selecting the position and orientation of the items. Because of the axis of rotation,
there are no LEDs in the center of the rotating plate that facilitate irradiation. Therefore, items are NOT to be
placed in this area.
