Automatic mode
This mode is suitable for servicing a vehicle
A/C system.
In this mode, all phases are automatically
executed in sequence. This entry option is
appropriate if the vehicle or the A/C system
is not listed in the data manual. The setting
parameters required for the A/C service (va-
cuum time, filling quantity and oil type) are
described in the vehicle documentation or in
the vehicle-specific repair manual.
i
Before starting the process, refer to section
6.2 "Preparations for A/C service".
i
Setting parameters for the A/C service can
be taken from the vehicle documentation or
the vehicle-specific repair manual.
The desired process must be configured in
"Automatic" mode. The various setting para-
meters, e.g. refrigerant quantity, oil quantity,
UV quantity, can be entered. No values less
than 5 ml can be entered. The individual ser-
vice phases can also be deactivated.
In the recycling phase, the duration for the
pressure increase test can be entered (def-
ault value: 1 minute).
In the vacuum phase, the duration (default va-
lue: 20 minutes) and the control time (default
value: 4 minutes) can be entered.
i
Oil injection and UV injection can only be
performed on A/C systems that are under
vacuum. The vacuum phase must therefore
be executed before oil injection.

i
Before feeding the refrigerant oil and the UV
contrast medium into the vehicle A/C system,
check whether the end of the intake hose
reaches right to the bottom of the fresh oil
reservoir.
In the oil injection phase, either no oil in-
jection is possible, the default oil quantity
(10 ml) is selected or the Delta oil quantity
is used. A manual value can be entered for
the Delta oil quantity. During oil injection,
the sum of the extracted oil quantity and the
Delta oil quantity is then added to the A/C
unit (e. g. extracted oil quantity = 8 ml; Delta
oil quantity = 5 ml; oil injection into A/C unit
= 13 ml).
In the UV injection phase, either no UV in-
jection is possible, the default UV quantity
(5 ml) is selected or the UV quantity can be
manually entered.
!
Before each UV contrast medium injection,
it is essential to check whether a leak test
using UV contrast medium is approved for
the vehicle A/C system.
In the filling phase, the refrigerant quantity
can be entered (default: 700 g).
If a lower value than 70g is displayed, this is because
1)
the internal refrigerant cylinder contains insufficient
refrigerant for filling.
Once all the desired parameters and settings
have been selected, the automatic process
is started.
At the end of the automatic process, the
valves on the HP/LP quick release couplings
are closed anticlockwise and disconnected
from the service connections on the vehicle
A/C system.
