Glossary

Recovery/recycling phase
The refrigerant is removed from the
vehicle A/C system, cleaned and added
to the internal refrigerant cylinder on the
ACS 500. The recovered refrigerant oil is
discharged into the used oil reservoir on
the ACS 500.

Vacuum phase
A vacuum is generated in the vehicle
A/C system. Once the vacuum has been
achieved, the pressure drop measure-
ment (leak test) is started.

Oil injection phase
Refrigerant oil is injected into the vehicle
A/C system refrigeration circuit.

UV contrast medium injection phase
A specified quantity of UV (ultraviolet)
contrast medium is added to the vehicle
A/C system.

Filling phase
A specified quantity of refrigerant is ad-
ded to the vehicle A/C system.
