Replacing the filter and drier cartridge

The filter and drier cartridge is responsible
for cleansing the contaminated refrigerant
from the vehicle A/C system of moisture and
suspended matter. If the filter and drier cart-
ridge is saturated, the filter function will no
longer work adequately and the contamina-
ted refrigerant will be returned to the vehicle
A/C system refrigeration circuit. This can lead
to a deterioration in the refrigerating capacity
of the vehicle A/C system.

When inserting the new filter and drier cart-
ridge, ensure that it is installed in the correct
position.
The procedure for changing it is as follows:
1.
Disconnect ACS 500 from lighting mains.
2.
Remove the cover panel on the front of the
trolley (four screws).
3.
Open the two fastening nuts (item 1)
while holding the filter and drier cartridge
in place.
4.
Remove the fastening strip (item 2).
5.
Remove the filter and drier cartridge.
6.
Attach new O rings to the connecting
pipe.
7.
Insert the new filter and drier cartridge
with the direction of flow arrow pointing
downwards (item 3).

8.
Tighten the two fastening nuts (item 1)
while holding the filter and drier cartridge
in place.
9.
Secure filter and drier cartridge with a new
fastening strip (item 2).
10.
Reset maintenance counter (section 7.3).
11.
Re-attach cover panel.
