Perform the previously described check for failures. The bearing
should not be too tight, because this may cause it to break easily.
If the bearing does not adapt, it may be for many reasons. If you are
not completely sure or have a question, contact your BMW dealer!
Warning: Be sure of the stability of the stem. Position the front
wheel between the legs and try to turn the handlebar. If the
stem is loose, it may cause accidents.
4.2.2 Normal re-adjustment of the handlebar.
The adjustable stem allows optimization of the riding position
by adjusting the incline of the axle within a range of -40º (lowest
position) up to 40º (highest position).
The stem angle can be easily modified by following these steps:
■ Loosen the side screw (right side) (d) until the axle moves freely.
■ Adjust the incline of the axle until reaching the desired height.
■ Tighten the side screw and take note of the tightening torque.

4.3 Assembling and disassembling the wheels.
Disassembly: Pull the locking lever and change it from the «CLOSE»
(a) to the «OPEN» position (b). Loosen the adjustment screw by
hand and remove the wheel.
Assembly: Insert the wheel axle in the fork dropouts (front wheel)
or the frame dropouts (rear wheel) and keep the locking lever in the
open position. Set the adjustment screw lightly. Close the lever,
meaning, change it to the «CLOSE» position.
Warning: The locking lever requires effort. In other cases, it is
necessary to firmly fasten the nut. If the lever fit in easily, it is
not well fastened and the clamping nut must be readjusted
accordingly.
