C. READ FIRST
Warning:
No helmet is as safe as riding safely!
Motorcycle riding has special personal hazards. The risks that are being
taken by riding a motorcycle can be reduced but not eliminated by
wearing a helmet.
Warning:
No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable
impacts!
There are limits to the physical size and weight of the helmet a person
is willing to wear. The ability of a helmet to protect the wearer is limited.
No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable impacts.
Warning:
Use only a helmet that fits snugly all around your head!
Fasten the chin strap securely under your chin! A helmet can provide
protection only to the extent that your head is covered with the helmet.
The use of a properly fitted, securely fastened helmet can lessen the
risk of death or permanent impairment due to head injury. For maximum
head protection, the helmet must be properly fitted and should provide
adequate peripheral vision. The retention system must be securely
fastened under the chin. Failure to have a proper fit and to securely
fasten the helmet is dangerous as the helmet could come off in an
accident resulting in severe head injury or death.
Warning:
Never use the helmet with the lining removed!
If the lining is not installed before use, the helmet may not fit properly
and could come off in an accident, resulting in severe head injury or
death.
