Press ESC to exit programming; "done" will be displayed to confirm any changes to the data,
after which the measurement value will be shown.
N. B.
The Quick Read requires to be re-zeroed if one or more of the variables PROBE, M.UNIT,
M.RANGE, SET N.VA, M.RESOL., MASTER, K, are modified during the programming. The
message "NOT CAL." is displayed at the end of programming.
Even if a new zeroing is required, it is always possible to return the programming mode by
pressing PROG/ENTER, and modify the variables before zeroing.
If BAR SET = off is programmed, the analog visualization of the measurement can be
displayed for few seconds, in measuring mode, by pushing the PROG or the SETUP key.
If DIGITSET = off is programmed, the numeric visualization of the measurement can be
displayed for some seconds, in measuring mode, by pushing the PROG or the SETUP key.
The unit identification number must be programmed only if Quick Read has to be connected
to a PC, a data collector, a PLC or to the Quick Read external pushbutton box (see paragraph
3.10 Accessories). If more than one Quick Read is connected, unique identification number
must be programmed for each unit.
If the data format QRbin. is selected for the serial transmission to a > P.C., the transmission
parameters are prefixed (BAUD=9600, PARITY=e,8,1) > and cannot be modified.
3.3 Programming protection/unprotection (variable PASS SET)
This is a kind of password to protect programming against accidental modification. It is not a free
programmable value, but the protection is enabled just by programming "on".
Even if the protection is enabled from the beginning of programming, parameters can be further
modified unless you definitively confirm the complete programming by pushing ESC. In case you
want to be sure to enable the protection only at the very end of programming, the password can
also be enabled as last parameter (at the beginning "off" has to be chosen, and when the
programming is finished return to PASS SET, choose "on" and confirm by pushing first
PROG/ENTER and then the ESC keys).
To modify the programming the password value to be entered for PASS SET is 1204. To enter
1204 keep the +/ZERO key pushed, the value displayed will increase quickly. To reach 1204 it
will take approximately 15 seconds.
The zeroing function is not affected by the active protection, to allow the measure to be zeroed
anytime it is required.
3.4 Display resolution
The digital display resolution can be 0,1 micron (.00001") or 1 micron (.00005") for the
measuring ranges up to ±1 mm (.04"). It is 1 micron (.00005") for the ranges ± 2,5 mm (.10"),
and ± 5 mm (.20").
If M.RANGE = ± 0,250 / ± 0,500 / ± 1,000 mm (± .010" / ± .020" / ± .040") and SET N.VA =
0, the resolution can be 0,1 or 1 micron. The variable M.RESOL appears in the main menu
and can be programmed (low = 1 micron, high = 0,1 micron).
If M.RANGE = ± 0,250 / ± 0,500 / ± 1,000 mm (± .010" / ± .020" / ± .040") and SET N.VA #
0, the resolution is always 1 micron.
If M.RANGE = ± 2,500 / ± 5,000 mm (± .100" / ± .200") the resolution is always 1 micron
even if SET N.VA = 0.
