DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
a. Switch off the RF/HF generator, remove the (3) RF/HF-cable first and then remove the plug from the handle.
b. Unscrew the (2) shaft and after activating the (6) Locking Button, pull it in a distal direction from the handle together
with the probe.
c. Pull the probe (sterile disposable product) out from the (2) shaft and dispose it in accordance with internal or statutory
regulations, since the probe is a biological hazard. Dispose the used RF/HF-probe as clinical waste in accordance with
hospital guidelines.
d. Refer to chapter cleaning, disinfection and sterilization for care of the joimax
Hold the RF/HF-cable only by the connector to plug in and out.
FUNCTION TEST
By squeezing the handle, the tip of the probe is pushed out of the shaft; the probe is activated only with the foot switch
of the RF/HF generator.
After assembly or cleaning / disinfection, check all components for completeness, function, corrosion, damaged surfaces,
chipping and cleanliness.
Take special care of a straight shaft without any sharp edges at the distal end. The seals on the handle are present and
mounted. The cable is intact and free of kinks.
Inspect especially the cables for damage prior to each use, especially the insulations, visually under magnification
or with a high voltage insulation testing device. Components with any defect are not allowed to be used anymore.
In case of a negative function test, reassemble the instrument. When proper function cannot be achieved, replace the
faulty parts with new ones.
MATERIAL DURABILITY
When selecting cleaners and disinfectants, always ensure that they do not contain the following components:
• organic, mineral or oxidating acids (minimum allowed pH-value 5.5)
• strong lye (maximum allowed pH-value 11; we recommend a neutral / enzymatic or slightly alkaline cleaner)
• organic solvents (e.g. alcohol, ether, ketone, benzene)
• oxidants (e.g. hydrogen peroxides)
• halogens (chlorine, iodine, bromine)
• aromatic / halogenated hydrocarbons
• heavy metal salts
Never clean medical devices with metal brushes or steel wool!
PRODUCT LIFETIME
The lifetime of instruments is limited, because they are subject to a natural wear and aging.
Inappropriate handling e.g. overloading, unsuitable cleaning agents, high sterilization temperatures, etc. reduce the life-
time of the instruments.
A thorough examination of the instrument according to the function test must take place during the reprocessing process,
after the disinfection and before the sterilization. If a deterioration / defect is determined, then the instrument is to be seg-
regated immediately and may not further be used. The use of damaged and / or dirty instruments lies in the responsibility
of the user. If you have questions contact joimax
GmbH or one of its representatives.
