WARNING!
Contamination
Do not use device and/or accessories if signs of contamination are detected.
Make sure the device or/and accessories can no longer be operated until a qual-
ified service technician conducts the appropriate tests and repairs.
When fluid has penetrated the device via the insufflation tube connection, the
display depicts Device contaminated! and gives an acoustic signal. It is possible
to conclude any currently ongoing surgery with this device.
If insufflation is stopped subsequently, it can be restarted within 20 minutes and
the surgery can be continued. A change of indication is no longer possible. If in-
sufflation is not restarted during 20 minutes or if the device is turned off and on
again, further use of the device is not possible. This is to prevent cross-contami-
nation.
When you turn on an already contaminated device, a corresponding message ap-
pears on the display. The device can no longer be used. The contaminated device
has to be clearly marked as contaminated and sealed in two separate protective
layers of safety foil. Make sure the device can not be used until a qualified service
technician conducts the appropriate tests and repairs.

Leakage Detection
If the device is not able to achieve the set pressure a leakage notification is dis-
played.
Leakages can occur at port sites, port sealings or due to excessive use of a suction
device.
8.5
Gas Heating - Overtemperature
Use the gas heating and the heating tube to insufflate lukewarm gas (37 °C).
CAUTION!
Do not subject the heating tube to direct heat (e.g., endoscope connected with
light source) or high room temperatures.
The status bar depicts the following in case of an overtemperature: Gas heating
- overtemperature! A warning beep can be heard. Gas heating and insufflation
are switched off.
WARNING!
If the temperature sensor measures a gas temperature > 42 °C, unplug the heat-
ing tube plug from the device. Hot gas in the abdomen can lead to serious inju-
ries.
