- F5
enables/disables the full steering procedure (with the electronic turntables), (this key is
not visible if the "Turntable enabling" field in the setup is set to "Never").
- F8
displays a window with a list of working windows. Used for skipping quickly between
windows.
- F10 returns to the starting window.
To perform the standard steering procedure, follow the on-screen instructions and proceed as
described below:
• release the turntables;
• align the wheels by following the on-screen indicator until "STOP" is displayed;
Note: if the vehicle on which the measurements are being made has very low front and rear
spoilers, preventing the sensors' transverse goniometers from making a reading, the software
will display a warning message prompting use of the spoiler procedure, and the program will
continue from the spoiler procedure selection window.
• lock all sensors perfectly level;
• turn the wheels 10° or 20° to the left until the "STOP" message appears;
• wait for the data acquisition and for the turn-right arrows to appear;
• turn the wheels 10° or 20° to the right (relative to the centre position) until the "STOP"
message appears;
• wait for the data acquisition and for turn-left arrows to appear;
• turn the wheels once again to the left to straighten the steering.
The standard procedure detects the steering angle using the sensor goniometers, without the
need for electronic turntables.
If the full steering procedure has been selected, proceed as follows:
• release the turntables;
• align the wheels by following the on-screen indicator until "STOP" is displayed;
Note: if the vehicle on which the measurements are being made has very low front and rear
spoilers, preventing the sensors' transverse goniometers from making a reading, the software
will display a warning message prompting use of the spoiler procedure, and the program will
continue from the spoiler procedure selection window.
• lock all sensors perfectly level;
• turn the wheels 20° to the left until the "STOP" message appears;
• wait for the data acquisition;
• turn the wheel further to the left until the steering wheel locks;
• turn the wheels 20° to the right (relative to the centre position) until the "STOP" message
appears;
• wait for the data acquisition;
• turn the wheels further to the right until the steering wheel locks;
• turn the wheels back to the left to straighten the steering..
The full steering procedure requires the use of electronic turntables connected directly to the
respective sensors via the special cable. More specifically, one end of the cable is connected to
the turntable connector, and the other end to the connector block (18, fig. 24) of the
corresponding sensor.
