PELIGRO
No use gasolina o disolventes inflamables para lavar
el elemento filtrante, para evitar el riesgo de incen-
dios o explosiones.
Limpie y controle las condiciones del filtro del aire cada
mes o cada 4000 km, según las condiciones de uso.
De utilizar el vehículo en carreteras polvorientas o moja-
das, las operaciones de limpieza tendrán que efectuarse
con mayor frecuencia.
Hay que sacar el filtro aire del vehículo para limpiarlo.

Coloque el vehículo sobre el caballete central.
Desmonte la tapa escudo inferior, véase pág. 41 (DES-
MONTAJE COBERTURA ESCUDO INFERIOR).
Desmonte la tapa de inspección izquierda, véase
pág. 41 (DESMONTAJE TAPAS DE INSPECCION
DERECHA E IZQUIERDA).
Destornille y quite el tornillo (1), guardando la arandela
y el anillo tubo respiradero (2).
Destornille y quite el tornillo (3) con correspondiente
arandela.
Afloje el tornillo (4) de la abrazadera del colector aire.
Agarre el colector aire en correspondencia con la abra-
zadera y estírelo, extrayendo, de esta manera, el filtro
aire completo.

Destornille y quite los tres tornillos (5).
Quite la tapa de la caja filtro (6), y extraiga el elemento
filtrante.
Lave el elemento filtrante con disolventes limpios, no
inflamables o con elevado punto de volatilidad, y déjelo
secar con mucho cuidado.
Aplique sobre toda la superficie un aceite para filtros o
un aceite de alta densidad (SAE 80W - 90); luego es-
cúrralo para eliminar el exceso de aceite.
IMPORTANTE
El filtro debe quedar bien impregna-
do pero no debe gotear.

Desmonte el escudo delantero interior, véase pág. 43
(DESMONTAJE ESCUDO DELANTERO INTERIOR).
Desconecte los dos conectores eléctricos (7) y (8).
Destornille y quite los tornillos (9).
Desmonte el interruptor completo.

Do not use petrol or inflammable solvents to wash the
air cleaner, in order to avoid fires or explosions.
Check the conditions of the air cleaner and clean it month-
ly or every 4000 km, depending on the conditions in which
the vehicle is used.
If the vehicle is used on dusty or wet roads, the cleaning
operations and any replacement should be carried out
more frequently.
Before the cleaning operation, it is necessary to remove
the air cleaner from the vehicle.

Position the vehicle on the centre stand.
Remove the lower shield cover, see p. 41 (REMOVING
THE LOWER SHIELD COVER).
Remove the left inspection cover, see p. 41 (REMOV-
ING THE RIGHT AND LEFT INSPECTION COVERS).
Unscrew and remove the screw (1), taking the washer
and the breather pipe ring (2).
Unscrew and remove the screw (3) with the relevant
washer.
Loosen the screw (4) of the air manifold clamp.
Hold the air manifold in correspondence with the clamp
and pull it, thus removing the whole air cleaner.

Unscrew the three screws (5).
Remove the filter case cover (6) and extract the filtering
element.
To clean the filtering element use clean, non-inflamma-
ble solvents or solvents with high volatility point, then
let it dry thoroughly.
Apply a filter oil or a thick oil (SAE 80W-90) on the
whole surface of the filtering element, then squeeze it
to eliminate the oil in excess.
NOTE
The filter must be well impregnated, though not
dripping.

Remove the front inner shield, see p. 43 (REMOVING
THE FRONT INNER SHIELD).
Disconnect the two electric connectors (7) and (8).
Unscrew and remove the screws (9).
Remove the whole switch.
