The anchoring device must be used as personal
protection equipment against falls and not as lifting
equipment.
For any special use, please request Tractel.
Rail strength is linked to bracket quality. As a
consequence, its reliability will only be determined if
materials are free from defects or performance drop
depending on installation and use (aging, overloading,
chemical or weather attacks, etc.)
IMPORTANT: travrail rail can only be used with
equipment type harness, lanyard, etc. having a CE
marking and used in compliance with manufacturer's
recommendations.
Parts and accessories as well as location and quality of
structural anchors are those described in the technical
file.
This rail is used for securing an operator against falls,
and might be used as a suspension device if needed
(horizontal move for handling apparatus), only under
certain conditions. Please ask Tractel.
Device compliant for safeguarding three operators for
horizontal move.
Rail must be compliant with requirements of norm EN
795-D:2012 and TS 16415:2013. This type of anchor is
not submitted to EU regulation 2016/425.
The travrail rail is a component of a horizontal fall arrest
system which must comply with standard EN 363. They
can be used in combination with:
• An anchoring device (EN 795)
• A connector (EN 362)
• A fall arrest device (EN 354, 355, 353-2 or 360)
• A fall arrest harness (EN 361), with attachment point
dorsal or sternal.
• Any other combination is prohibited
It is forbidden to:
• Use a travrail rail that would have a default (corrosion,
deformation...).
• Use a rail which has stopped a fall and which has not
been changed or checked.
• Ensure safeguarding of more than three persons
attached to the same rail (except specific agreement
of the manufacturer).
• Suspend loads to rail.
• Make any change to the rail components.
DANGER: The rail operator must be healthy and
full fitness. The operator must be trained to the use of
this anchoring device and have the skills for using this
fall arrest PPE.
Connection to a PPE and its use have to be the object
of a demo to any operator before use.
The linking rules of several products PPE must be
respected, in order to get a fall arrest device compliant
with norm EN 363 (chapter 7).
Before using the device, check each time that the rail
is in proper working order (not deformed, not corroded,
brackets well tightened).
The operator must be equipped with a mean allowing to
limit maximum dynamic forces stressed on the operator
when arresting a fall, at a maximal value of 6 kN.
Before and during use, the operator shall consider how
could be ensured an eventual rescue.
The fall arrest harness is the only device of body
prehension allowed in a fall arrest device. Operator
must be linked to the anchoring with a compliant fall
arrest device (self-retracting fall arrester or lanyard), at
a harness sternal or dorsal anchorage point.
It is essential, for security reasons, to check the free
space required under the operator on the working place
before any use, in order that in case of fall, there will not
be any crash with the ground nor any other obstacles
on the fall trajectory. Nonetheless, the operator must
take care of the effects of a pendulum fall.
Next to the rail, a sign plate will inform the operator of
the date of the last periodic review.

9. Regulations and standards

Tractel Ibérica, S.A. Crta. Del medio, 261, 08907
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona – Spain) hereby
declares that the safety equipment described in this
manual is identical to the equipment that was the
subject of a compliance examination issued by APAVE
SUDEUROPE SAS - CS 60193 - 13322 Marseille -
France, identified by the number 0082, and tested
according to EN 795-D: 2012 standards for 1 operator
and TS 16415: 2013 for 2 and 3 operators.
IMPORTANT: The operator's safety is linked
to maintaining the efficiency and durability of the
equipment. However, the rail as well as the anchor
points must to be supplemented by personal protective
equipment against falls from a height, consisting, for
each operator, of at least a full fall arrest harness,
connection and linking devices, if necessary, a shock
absorber, manufactured in accordance with the
European Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and used in
accordance with the Council directive 89/656/EEC and
the additional requirements of each country using it. All
items of PPE must be CE certified.
