8.1.1 Disinfecting the External Irrigation Circuit
After performing the flush function (see
subsequent cleaning procedures, proceed to disinfect the external irrigation circuit.
The procedure must be carried out on both the scaler handpiece and polisher handpiece.
To disinfect the irrigation circuit, proceed as follows:

Required Materials

• CIDEX® OPA disinfectant solution;
• Distilled water;
• "Mectron Water Circuit Cleaning Kit"
(cod. 02900171-001) to disinfect the
8.1.1.2 Procedure - Polisher Handpiece
WARNING: Switch the appliance
off. Switch the appliance off using the
switch (Ref. 1), disconnect the power
supply cable from the wall socket
(Ref. 2) and machine core unit (Ref. 3)
before carrying out the cleaning and
sterilisation tasks.
Disconnect the quick connector of the
external water circuit from the device (see
Chapter 4.3 on page 18)
Unscrew the male coupling for the
external water circuit connection (Ref. A -
see Chapter 9.2 on page 100
Remove the water filter (Ref. B - see
Chapter 9.2 on page 100
