Optimising the controller

The optimisation of the control behaviour can be done by entering known parameters
manually or automatically with the "self-optimisation" option. During self-optimisation, the
respective controller calculates the mathematical parameters of a process.
The controller changes the output level (jump) and evaluates the response of the process
actual value of (step response). The controller parameters set like this are adopted in the
"Settings" after a successful self-optimisation run.
Ä Chapter 10.5.2 'Parameter sets (controller parameters)' on page 178.
See
WARNING!
During self-optimisation, the controller outputs may take on unpredictable
values! Before starting self-optimisation, it must be ensured that larger
deviations of the actual value from the set value cannot cause material
damage or personal injury.
