The following steps describe the procedure for retrofitting option boards:
1.
Before you retrofit, change or extend option boards, please perform the energy
balance test. See
2.
Disconnect the device from the mains (power supply network, external feeds of
relay/semiconductor relay circuits, etc.).
3.
Identify the module by the adhesive part number on the package and the
accessories table. See
Use the block diagram to choose a suitable slot for the option board.
Ä Chapter 4.4 'Block diagram' on page 31.
See
4.
Open the device connection compartment.

5.
Locate the selected slot on the device by looking at the cover plate of the option slots
or the connection drawing inside the terminal compartment cover or in the instruction

manual. See
6.
Disconnect any connector blocks and interface cables that are obstructing the
dismantling of the cover plate.
7.
Undo the two screws on cover plate of the selected option slot and remove the cover
plate. See Fig. 91.
8.
Insert the option board into the selected slot. Pay attention to correct position of the
board. For a better guidance of the board, you can fill empty slots with plastic board
frames. The plastic board frames must be aligned flush to the plastic wells of the
option slots (see Fig. 92).
9.
Fill all the empty slots with plastic board frames, set the cover plate back on and
tighten it. For option boards "Analysis input Ci" (conductivity inductive) go to step 10,
else go to step 14.
10. Install the M12 socket that comes with the option board in a suitable cable insertion
hole on the housing.
11. Connect the 2-core temperature sensor cable of the socket to an appropriate
analogue input (e.g. temperature measurement input). Please refer to the
information provided by the built-in conductivity sensor and temperature sensor.
12. Insert the plug-in screw-in terminal of the M12 socket into the Ci-option board.
The factory wiring must not be changed.
13. Connect the inductive conductivity sensor on the M12 socket.
14. Reattach all other connector blocks and interface cables.
15. Attach the terminal compartment cover. Tighten all six screws of the terminal
compartment cover to a torque of 1 Nm.
16. Now switch on the power supply and verify that the new hardware has been detected
