Type Label

The type label clearly identifies the product. The type label is located on the right-hand side of the enclosure. You will
find the following information on the type label:
• Device type (Type)
• Serial number (Serial No.)
You will require the information on the type label to use the product safely and when seeking customer support from
Service (see Section 12 "Contact", page 103).
Symbols on the Type Label
Symbol Explanation
Danger to life due to electric shock
The product operates at high voltages. All work on the product must be carried out by qualified
persons only.
Beware of a danger zone
This warning symbol indicates a danger zone. Be particularly vigilant and cautious when working
on the product.

Operating state Description
BOOT The SMA Fuel Save Controller is starting.
INIT The Fuel Save Controller establishes the communication
to the other devices in photovoltaic diesel hybrid system.
STANDBY The SMA Fuel Save Controller is in standby mode.
MANUAL The SMA Fuel Save Controller is in manual mode. The
setpoint values for the active and reactive power of the
inverters are set via the user interface of the
Fuel Save Controller.
OPERATE The SMA Fuel Save Controller is in automatic mode and
specifies the setpoints for the active and reactive power
of the inverters. If the Fuel Save Controller is connected to
a SCADA system, it will use the setpoints from the
SCADA system in automatic mode.
SAFETY The SMA Fuel Save Controller has switched to a safe
state following an error. The PV power can be reduced
compared with operation in automatic mode.
ERROR An error has occurred in the SMA Fuel Save Controller.
Automatic operation of the PV diesel hybrid system is in-
terrupted.
