Setting up

NOTE:
Due to the weight of 23 kg, it is recommended
that two persons set up the unit.
▷ When setting up, observe the valid country-
specific accident prevention regulations.
_ The machine is intended exclusively for use
within dry, closed rooms.
_ The machine must be positioned below an
exhaust pipe or an exhaust hood (as used for
pre-heating furnaces).
_ A mains socket outlet must be located close to
the unit and be easily accessible.
_ Sufficient ventilation must be ensured at the
set-up location, in order to draw off the heat and
possibly developing exhaust gas.
_ A clearance of at least 50 mm is to be observed
sidewards, to the rear and upwards of the fur-
nace. The lateral clearance to non-flammable
materials can be reduced to 20 cm. Space
requirements for the Ceramill Therm s incl. con-
nections is thus:
▪ Width: 1.38 m (0.78 m for non-flammable
materials)
▪ Depth: 0.84 m
▪ Height: 1.28 m
_ The furnace ventilation opening must remain
unobstructed to enable a cooling air circulation.
_ The set-up surface must be level.
_ The empty weight of the machine is 23 kg. The
set-up surface must withstand an appropriate
load.
_ During operation, the room temperature must
be between 15 °C and 35 °C; avoid large varia-
tions in temperature.
I N S T A L L A T I O N
_ The maximal operating elevation (standard ele-
vation zero) is 2000 m.
_ The floor covering must be made of non-flam-
mable material, so that hot material falling out
of the furnace can not inflame the covering.
▷ Set up the machine on a sturdy work table or
work bench (on a non-flammable surface).
▷ Remove all packaging material, including from
the furnace compartment.
DANGER:
For carrying out the further installation steps, a
qualified professional in the area of electrical
safety is mandatory. The installation and repair
of heating elements must be performed by
trained and certified personnel.
▷ Have the heating elements mounted by a
trained professional (see separate installation
instructions).
5.2

Electrical connection

The electrical connection is to be made via a
socket outlet with earthing contact providing 220-
240 V and 50 - 60 Hz. This socket outlet must be
located close to the furnace and be easily accessi-
ble.
When using an extension cord or a multiple socket
outlet, do not exceed the respective max. electri-
cal load rating.
