• Place the dismantled cannula fully submersed in an instrument-disinfectant
and cleaning agent (e.g. Dürr ID 212, ID 212 forte; ID 213, observe
manufacturer's instructions carefully).
• After the cleaning and disinfection cycles have finished check the cannula
carefully for signs of residual dirt, if necessary clean with a suitable brush and
repeat the cycle.
• Rinse cannula thoroughly with water.
• Drying should be carried out using hygienically clean, disposable wipes, or
under the application of compressed air.
Check and test of function
Frequent application and cleaning has little effect on cannula. The end of the product's
life cycle is determined by the amount of wear and tear or damage during usage.
• Check the cannula visually and where necessary, damaged cannula must be
disposed of. Before disposal cannula must be disinfected and sterilised.
Packaging
• Sterilise disassembled cannula either unpacked or packed in a container or in
sterile product packaging. Use a suitable sterile product packaging!
Steam Sterilisation
WARNING
The wrong sterilisation can reduce effectiveness and can lead
to damage to the product
• Only steam sterilisation is permissible.
• Do not exceed 134 °C.
• Observe the process parameters.
• Do not use any other process.
• Place filter paper on sterilisation tray before use.
• Always place objects for sterilisation together with instruments in or-
der to achieve a balanced temperature distribution during sterilisation.
• Avoid metal contact between any of the objects for sterilisation and
any instruments or with the tray edge itself.
• Place the objects to be sterilised in such a way that they do not
come too close to the heating elements and do not come into
contact with the internal walls and place on the middle tray.
• Only sterilise the product in a disassembled state.
Temperature: 134 °C
Gauge pressure above ambient environment: 2.16 bar / 0.216 MPa
Holding time: 5 min
• Sterilised implements must be sterilised in a small steam sterilisor before
use according to European guidelines EN 13060 in sterilisation cycle B and
subsequently dried.
• Observe the manufacturer's instructions concerning usage of the steam
sterilisation unit and the correct placement of objects to be sterilised.
• Observe all national and local guidelines and regulations concerning sterilisa-
tion of medical products.
Storage
Store the cannula so they are proteceted against any possible contamination.
