Important Information to CURA S 9xx
Dear Customer,
The Wheel Aligner WA 950 / WA 970 differs from the one
described in this manual in the following points:
1. Ergonomically designed sensor head casing with a big
handle.
2. Power button instead of power switch on the sensor
heads.
3. Elektronic bubble level in five instead of three steps on
the sensor head.
4. Quicker data transfer protocol: In the password pro-
tected setup, you have to select sensor head type
‚Cable Sensors 2008' or ‚Radio Sensors 2008'. If you
do not get the Aligner model WA 950 / WA 970
correctly displayed at the start screen of the Alignment
program, this setting is done incorrectly. Data commu-
nication will not work.
5. The internal electrical setup of the machine is simpler.
Instead of a triple DC power supply board with three
LEDs as described, there is only one single 12V DC
switching power supply for everything. Instead of the
thick, red sensor canbles, there are thinner, but more
robust black sensor cables with a plug that is molded
on.
6. Radio Aligners WA 970: Data transmission is done with
a similar black transceiver box that is plugged in on top
of the cabinet.
But this one is working in the 2.4GHz range (instead of
the 433MHz used up to now). If needed, you can select
a different channel with a small service program that is
called from the password protected setup area.
The batteries are the same as in the WA 920 aligners.
These are off-the-shelf 7.2V 3000mAh NiMH batteries
in ‚Racepack' form.
The big difference is that the intelligent charge control-
ler is no longer inside the cabinet, but inside each
sensor head.
The batteries will even charge when the sensor head is
connected via cables during a measurement.
The new machines are explicitly identical with the existing
range concerning these points:
- Software protection system with smartcard reader and
SIM/Smartcards used are. Measurement process, run-
out compensation, vehicle selection, datenbank,...
- Same Software Installation is being used, only correct
selection of sensor type in setup required- Identical
alignment accessories (e.g. wheel clamps, turntables,
unlocking smartcards,...)
- Same after sales tools are being used (e.g. calibration
rig)
- Many identical spare parts (mechanical parts, toe caa-
meras, batteries,...)
