Afterwards the toe pressure bar 1 987 009 A01N must be
attached at the front rear.
Alignment of the front axle
It makes sence to move the lift to a comfortable height while you
mount the toe pressure bar.
Do not forget to level the lift in each position. Further-
more you have to pay attention, that the toe pressure
bar is mounted in the foremost position of both wheels.
Mounted toe pressure bar
In the next step both the steering wheel lock (possibly also the
steering wheel level) and the toe pressure bar have to be
dismounted according to the instructions on the screen.
Subsequently it is necessary to check the height level of the
chassis. Therefore an inclinometer from ROMESS is needed.
The ROMESS inclinometer must always be connected
and disconnected at the serial port. Make sure, that you
never disconnect the USB- cable from the USB- COM-
converter 1 987 009 UE6N.
The minute you disconnect at the wrong position, the
transfer of the measuring values will not be possible
anymore. If you have reached that point, please restart
the alignment program.
After you have recorded the measuring values at the prescribed
points, it is essential to press the MEMORY- button in order to
save them. Otherwise a data transfer to the PC is not possible.

As soon as the ROMESS inclinometer is connected to the PC, the
measuring values of the chassis´height level will be imported by
using the button
.
Further hints concerning the operation you will find in the instruc-
tion manual of the ROMESS inclinometer.
It is not possible to indicate target values of toe, camber
and caster, before the values of the height level are not
transfered.
There is also a possibilty to enter the measuring values of the
height level check manually. However the usage of the automati-
cal data transfer is much more comfortable.
If you enter the values manually please pay attention to a correct
transfer.
Check of the height level
The following screen shows a data summary of the already
measured previous values. Furthermore the target values are
listed, too. Please consider, that in this data summary it is not
possible to carry out any adjustments.
