Choice of the Mercedes wheel clamps

alignment process without compensation. This is caused in the
fact, that the wheel clamps are positioned on the wheel hub.
Subsequently the pedal depressor must be mounted. It is very
important to use enough power to depress the pedal in order to
recieve a sufficient breaking force.
It is essential for the success of the Mercedes- Process to mount
the pedal depressor before starting the steering procedure, even
if there is no hint on the program screen.
Non- observance causes with high probability serveral
problems during the wheel alignment procedure.
Now it is necessary to mount both the wheel clamps and the
sensor heads. If the car, which shall be aligned, is equipped with
a very low front spoiler, it is necessary to use special accessoires:

By using the original Mercedes wheel clamps a set of angle
adapters 1 987 009 A0PN is necessary. By using one of the
adapter kits, a set of spoiler adapters 1 987 009 A03N is needed.
Wheel clamp, angle adapter and sensor head
As soon as the emitter is connected, the sensor heads are
switched on and the software configuration is set correctly, the
program will skip automatically the second compensation screen.
Pay attention for the displays of the sensor heads,
which show the inclination. All of them must indicate a
horizontal position of the sensor heads.
The steering wheel procedure has to be performed according to
the indications on the screen. During this procedure you will be
supported by arrows and yellow triangles.
If you cross the 20° steering angle during the steering procedure,
yellow triangles will manage you below 18°, before you can steer
again towards the measuring point of 20°.
Screens during the steering procedure
After the steering procedure it is necessary to fix the steering
wheel with the steering wheel lock 1 987 009 A17N in the 0°-
position.
In order to adjust the steering wheel precisely, a steering wheel
level, which is offered as special accessoire, is helpful. (Basic
version: 1 987 009 A70N or self centering version 1 987 009
A74N)
