When not to use Sensor Glucose readings for treatment decisions
No Current Glucose Number
When there is no Current Glucose number, such as when you receive an error
message or a LO or HI result, you don't have enough information to make a
treatment decision. Do a blood glucose test and treat based on that result.
When you see the
symbol during the first 12 hours of wearing a Sensor
During the first 12 hours of Sensor wear the
symbol will display, and you
cannot use Sensor values to make treatment decisions during this time. Confirm
Sensor glucose readings with a blood glucose test before making treatment
decisions during the first 12 hours of Sensor wear when you see the
symbol.
Think Your Readings are Incorrect?
Don't trust Sensor glucose readings that you think may be incorrect or that don't
match what you would expect based on your recent activity. For example, if you
ate dinner but forgot to take insulin before eating, you would expect your
glucose to be high. If your glucose reading is low, then it doesn't match your
recent activity, so don't use it to make treatment decisions. Don't make
treatment decisions if you think your Sensor glucose readings are incorrect. Do a
blood glucose test and treat based on that result.
