Electrical connection

Preparation/notes

NOTE
If two single pumps are to be supplied in one Y-piece construction by
one differential pressure sensor (Fig. 19, Item 1), a DDG splitter
(Fig. 19, Item 2) is required.
3
The differential pressure sensor (Fig. 19, Item 1) must be connected in
front of and behind the non-return valves (Fig. 19, Item 3) inserted in
the Y-piece construction.
CAUTION! Risk of damage!
The incorrect assignment of the connection terminals can cause
malfunctions.
The assignment of the connection terminals – according to the
selected operating mode – is illustrated (Fig. 4, 5, 6 or 7).
DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
Improper electrical connections can lead to fatal electrical shocks.
• Have the electrical connection established by an electrician
approved by the local electricity supplier only and in accordance
with local regulations.
• Observe the installation and operating instructions for the acces-
sories!
DANGER! Risk of fatal injury!
Contact voltage dangerous to human life
Work on the module may only be started once 5 minutes have
passed, due to the dangerous residual contact voltage (capacitors).
• Before working on the pump, disconnect the power supply and
wait for 5 minutes.
• Check whether all connections (including potential-free contacts)
are voltage-free.
WARNING! Risk of mains overload!
An inadequate mains design can lead to system failures and even to
cable fires due to mains overload.
• When designing the mains, with regard to the used cable cross-
sections and fuses, pay special attention to the fact that, in multi-
pump operation, it is possible that all pumps operate at the same
time for short periods.
The electrical connection must be established in accordance with VDE
0730/Part 1 via a fixed power cable (cross-section to be complied
with, see table), which is equipped with a plug device or an all-pole
switch with a contact opening width of at least 3 mm. The power
cable is to be guided through the threaded cable connection M40.

• In order to ensure drip protection and strain relief on the threaded
cable connection, cables are to be used which have a sufficient outer
diameter and are to be screwed sufficiently tightly. In addition, the
cables near the threaded cable connection are to be bent to form
a drainage loop, to drain any accumulated drips. Non-assigned
threaded cable connections must remain sealed with the plugs pro-
vided by the manufacturer.
• When pumps are used in systems with water temperatures above
90°C, a suitably heat-resistant connection line must be used.
