4.2.4 Expert Choice operating mode
This operating mode allows you to select, at any time,
one of the individual subprograms in the Automatic
Mounting and Demounting Programs.
WARNING:
USING THE EXPERT CHOICE OPERATING
MODE IS RESERVED FOR OPERATORS
WITH TRIED AND TESTED EXPERIENCE AND
ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF THE MACHINE.
Sometimes the operator may need to select a given
Subprogram, even if it is not the subprogram that
the Automatic Mode schedules for that particular
moment and even if it is not available in the Individual
Subprogram Selector.
When the machine does not allow a specifi c Subprogram
to be selected, but the expert operator foresees the
possibility or need to run a certain operation, he/she
can activate the Expert Choice operating mode.
This situation may occasionally occur, for example:
1- When an individual operation has been unsuccessful:
if the automatic operating phase is completed, the
machine considers the phase to have obtained the
required result, even if it hasn't.
2- When an operation has been performed
independently, i.e. without the intervention of the
tire changer, and if the machine were to perform the
operation again, the wheel or the machine itself might
be seriously damaged.
In both these cases the operator should check that
the relative condition of the rim and tire is not what the
program considers it to be.
The expert operator must be expert enough to be sure
that repeating or skipping the Subprogram in question
will not damage the rim or tire and therefore decide
arbitrarily to use the Expert Choice operating mode.
WARNING:
SELECTING EXPERT CHOICE MODE INVOLVES
GREATER RISKS THAN USUAL FOR THE WHEEL
AND MACHINE TOOLS.
To use the Expert Choice operating mode:
The machine must be in Manual Mode, if it is not,
• press the key (7, Fig.4.1-1) to enter manual mode.
• press and hold down the + and – keys simultaneously
(1 and 2, Fig.4.1-1).
This will activate Expert Choice functioning, the
advanced access for Automatic Subprograms.
