Enhanced preset
Some BMLs permit changing the relationship of the
sin/cos signal to the absolute position value. This enables
adapting the sin/cos to the reference system (similar to
that shown in Section 2.6.2).
Various controller manufacturers prescribe different phase
relations: for each period of the sin/cos signal the absolute
position changes by the period length. If for example in a
system having a 2 mm period length the absolute position
is 10000 mm, 12000 mm, 14000 mm..., the angle of the
sin/cos signal is always the same. This angle can be set
using the Enhanced Preset function. Fig. 2-17 shows the
angle relationship between the sin/cos signal and the
absolute position for various angles of the Enhanced
Preset. The possible angles are defined in the BML user's
guide.
