REMOVING THE FRONT WHEEL
Position a block or a stand under the engine in such
a way that the front wheel is lifted from the ground.
Unscrew the screw (1) without removing it.
-
Loosen the bolts (2) holding the wheel shaft (3) to the
-
fork leg supports.
Push the screw (1) so that the pin (3) comes out, then
-
unscrew the screw (1) completely and remove the pin
(3).
Note
Do not operate the brake lever when the wheel has
been removed; this causes the calliper pistons to
move outwards. After removal, lay down the wheel
with brake disc facing up.
REFITTING THE FRONT WHEEL
Fit the left spacer (D) on the wheel hub.
-
Insert the wheel between the fork legs so as to insert
-
the brake disc into the calliper.
Fit the previously greased wheel pin (1) from the right
-
side until it is fully home on the left leg; it is advisable
to turn the wheel while carrying out this operation.
Tighten the screw (2) on the fork LH side but DO NOT
lock it.
Now, pump for a while, pushing the handlebar
downwards until you are sure that the fork legs are
perfectly aligned. Lock: screws (3) on the right leg (20
Nm/ 2.04 Kgm/ 14.75 ft-lb), screw (2) on the left side (50
Nm/ 5.0 Kgm/ 36.87 ft-lb) and screws (4) on the left leg
(20 Nm/ 2.04 Kgm/ 14.75 ft-lb).
Note
After reassembly, pull the brake control lever until
the pads are against the brake disc.
