2.7 Remaining risks
2.7.1 Injury through high weight
Depending on the version the orbital weld head can have a weight of up to 35 kg (77.16 lbs). A significant health hazard exists
during lifting.
Danger of impact and crushing exists in the following situations:
• Falling of the orbital weld head during transportation, mounting/dismantling or setting up.
• Falling of the transport case caused by it being put down improperly.
X Use a suitable means of transport to lift the transport case and to remove the orbital weld head from the transport case.
X Place the transport case on a stable base near (approx. 1.5 m) the welding power supply.
X Do not carry the transport case on a ladder.
X The set up the orbital weld head place it flat and ensure that it cannot fall down.
X Always carry out mounting/dismantling work of the orbital weld head OW 170 at the tube with 2 persons.
