Information and safety instructions for the responsible body
2.7.2
Prick injury through pointed electrode
Danger of being pricked by the electrode for the operator as well as for third parties while taking hold of the orbital weld head.
X Do not take hold of the orbital weld head at the position of the electrode.
X Before placing the orbital weld head in the transport case: Dismantle the electrode.
2.7.3
Danger of crushing through rotating rotor
Danger of crushing exists in the following situations:
• The rotor starts up unintentionally during setting up. Hands and fingers are crushed.
• The rotor is moved to the home position after setting up. Hair and clothing is pulled into the housing through the toothing.
X Wear tight-fitting clothes.
X Do not wear open hair, jewelry or other accessories that can be drawn in easily.
X Before connecting the orbital weld head and before mounting the electrode: Switch off the controller of the orbital welding
system.
X To move the rotor to the home position: Close the swivel clamps and flip cover.
2.7.4
Danger of crushing through being caught in by moving parts
Hands and fingers can be caught in and crushed when setting up the orbital weld head or when inserting the clamping inserts (in
particular if the swivel clamp snaps shut in an uncontrolled manner).
X Before inserting the clamping inserts: Place the orbital weld head flat on the base.
2.7.5
Danger of cuts at sharp edges
Danger of cut injuries caused by sharp tube edges when placing the tube in the orbital weld head.
X Wear safety gloves.
2.7.6
Burns and danger of fire through high temperatures
The orbital weld head is hot after welding. Very high temperatures arise in particular after several consecutive welding processes.
There is a danger of burns or damage to the points of contact when working on the orbital weld head (for example when changing
clamps or mounting / removing the electrodes).
Materials without thermal resistance (for example foam inlay of the transport case) can be damaged when coming into contact
with the hot orbital weld head.
The material can be thermally overloaded in the case of incorrect positioning of the forming system. In the worst case a fire will be
started.
X Wear safety gloves.
X Wait until the surfaces have cooled down to below 50 °C before working on the orbital weld head or before packing into the
transport case.
