X Grind the electrode only in the longitudinal direction.
X After the electrode has been ground, break the tip in accordance with the following sketch.

Electrode worn.
Electrode ground incorrectly.
Poor electrode quality.
Electrode not OK.
Electrode interval too high.
Weld head soiled.
Gas pre purge time too short.
Electrode not installed.
Foreign matter in the transmission.
Connection faulty.

REMEDY
X Regrind the electrode
(see chap. 10.4, p. 56).
X Regrind the electrode
(see chap. 10.4, p. 56).
X Use Orbitalum electrodes.
X Replace the electrode.
X Set the electrode distance.
X Clean the weld head.
X Increase the gas pre purge time.
X Install electrode.
X If possible remove the foreign matter by
means of compressed air. Otherwise send
the weld head to the Service. Under no
circumstances let the rotor rotate.
X Check the plug and power source.
