Creating a Diagnostic File for direct support

Should you ever encounter a vehicle, that you cannot measure in
spite of having followed all the hints given in this manual, do not
hesitate to call the online support. Please do the following:
In the probe diagnostic screen, simply press the button ‚Diagno-
se'. This starts an automatic process that will take approximately
10 minutes, and at the end of which there will be a zip file of more
than 20MB size.
If your system is configured for automatic sending of diagnostic
E-Mails, the ZIP file will already have been sent.
If this is not the case, you have to send this file manually. First, you
have to transfer the file to another PC that has E-Mail connection,
e.g. using a memory stick. You can find the file as shown above
in
c:\program files\lignment\SiCam3D\SMI\data\debug\transfer
From the other PC, you send it as an attachment to the address
eagle@a2t.de.
Please do also include the serial number of the system in your e-
mail, together with all the facts concerning what did not work and
what was observed. Normally, you will get feedback within one
hour of how to proceed further. In those cases, where it is not
some simple finger problem, these diagnostic files always had the
result that the probe software did ‚learn' the necessary new
features. As mentioned, this is about very rare exceptions.

Restoring damaged flash cards in the probe

Symptom: The program comes up with a message that one probe
was not powered up. When looking into the probe's window, you
see more than one yellow LED on the embedded PC. Looking at
the picture coming out if the projector (e.g. holding a piece of
cardboard in front of it), you either see nothing at all, or you see
a Windows bluescreen with an error message telling you that
some system file is missing or damaged.
Solution: Use the ‚Emergency Keys', a set of USB memory sticks,
that come with the system.
These are clearly markes with ‚L' (left) and ‚R' (right), whereas
right and left is defined looking in the direction as the car drives
on. On the probe that measures on the ‚continental' driver's side,
you have to use the key marked ‚L'.
