Wheel Alignment Lift
3.1.1

Lifting / Lowering, Lights

The core of the full automatic Wheel Alignment system WAB 02
CCT is a scissors lift. This forms the sufficiently precise and stable
basis for wheel alignment. The lift is being perfectly levelled during
first installation, especially in the fully down position. This is also
the position where the most precise initial and final measurements
are to be done.
For convenient adjustment work, the lift and the car can be raised.
Here, you need to keep in mind that only the use of the green fine-
level button will provide for the necessary levelness during
adjustment. This can be achieved at all heights, something like a
predefined, levelled adjustment position is not needed - thanks to
the SST safety and positioning system.
The lift is operated from the lift control panel next to the printer in
the upper part of the cabinet. The black buttons with the arrow up/
down will move the lift up and down in a synchronized way.
When lowering the lift, the SST safety nut raises first,
sometimes by lifting the lift slightly up.
To lower the lift takes place in two steps. The lift will always stop
automatically at the height of the so-called ‚CE-Stop'. You need
to release and repress the ‚Down' button to resume lowering. That
last part of the way is accompanied by a loud beeping signal. This
is necessary for saftey reasons, in order to avoid somebody's foot
to be squeezed under the lowering lift.
After having raised or lowered to the desired height, please do
always press the green button in order to have the two sides of
the lift perfectly equalized.
With the rotary switch above the lift operating buttons, you can
turn the lights in between the lift runways on and off.

Settings like the CE Stop, and lifting height limitations, can be
programmed individually by your after sales service technician.
The hydraulic pump, the proportional valves, and the plate/lift
controller, that communicates with the central PC via CAN bus,
can be found in the lower part of the control cabinet. This
hydraulic system is used as well for lifting, and for automatic
movement of the turntables and slip plates.
3.1.2

Drive-on ramps and roll back

At the rear end of the lift, there is a set of ramps installed, so that
you can drive on with a car. As soon as the lift is raised up, the front
part of that ramp converts into a safety device that prevents a car
from rolling off the lift. In case of a drive-over arrangement, there
will be these safety devices coming up on the front as well.
Please note that in spite of these safety devices you are
only allowed to have cars on the lift, that are secured
against rolling away (First gear / Automatic in 'P', or car
secured with blocking wedges).
3.1.3

Turn- / Slip Plates

On the lift, you find two turntables in thr front, and two long slip
plates in the rear. All four of them can be moved by the hydraulic
system, in order to execute the automatic runout compensation.
Additionally, these plates are unlocked pneumatically during
certain steps of the measurement process, and are being locked
automatically afterwards.
For reasons of saftey of work, the plates are fully locked
whenever there is a failure of mains power, or of
compressed air. Without compressed air, there is no
way to get correctly measured results!
