Please check the following points:
- Are the coloured stripes visible on both wheels?
- If not: are the two embedded PCs in the probes switched on at
all? You can tell by the fact that there is more than one yellow
LED lit on the PC's case.
If one of the PCs should not be on (only one yellow LED lit), you
can try to switch it on by pressing the little black button, that is
labeled ‚Reset' on the photograph. But please do this only if there
is only one yellow LED on. If there is no yellow LED on at the
embedded PC, either the whole probe has no power, or the power
supply unit in the probe is switched off.
- Does the wheel diameter indicated in the message box (left) fit
reality? If not, you can click on ‚Emergency Mode Wheel Diame-
ter', and enter the correct diameter. Afterwards, restart measu-
rement by clicking ‚yes'.
- In case the ‚Quality Check' function marks a certain area on the
wheel as probelmatic as shown on the right image, please
inspect what can block the camera's sight to that area of the
wheel, or whether the surface of the wheel has become
unmeasurable by big water drops or a glossy/greasy layer .
Also critical is a thick layer of black brake dust, because it hardly
reflects any light. Over all, latest after short wiping with a piece
of cloth (drops) or after steaming the wheel, it will work fine.
Next step is to go to the rear wheel. After the wheel center has
been detected, the measurement sequence is initiated. In case of
an extreme car angle (car not straight on the lift) of more than 0.7°,
with the threshold being adjustable, you will get a warning
indicator. In that case, you should abort the process, put the
vehicle more straight, and start over. Measurement accuracy is
highest with small car angles.

To do so, press ‚Cancel' and confirm in the following message box
(right image)with ‚yes'.
Otherwise, this is the time where the runout compensation is
done on the rear axle. To do so, the long slip plates under the rear
wheels are moved in opposite direction. This makes the rear
wheels rotate by approximately 20°. At the end point of the
movement, a set of measurements is taken. Afterwards, the plates
are moved twice as much in the other direction, to a wheel rotation
angle of approximately -20°.
Finally, the plates are being centered in the original positionPlat-
ten. In each position, the rear plates are unlocked for a short
moment, then locked again. Without compressed air, i.e. without
unlocking at the proper times, a correct measurement would not
be possible.
The executed process is a three point compensation. This one is
giving excellent results even with comparatively small rotation
angles.
