INFORMATION
Switching off the Axon-Bus prosthetic system during extended passive pauses (e.g. air or rail travel, visit to a
theatre or cinema, etc.) will make the battery last longer before requiring a recharge. Only the entire Axon-Bus
prosthetic system with all connected components can be switched off. Individual Axon-Bus components cannot
be switched off separately.
2.8 Charging Receptacle
The charging receptacle (Fig. 1, item 2) has the following functions when the AxonArm Ergo is connected with the
AxonMaster:

Contacts for charging the battery
•
LED display to indicate the current battery charge level
•
LED display for providing feedback on operating states
•
Button to turn the Axon-Bus prosthethic system on and off, display the battery charge level and open the Axon-
Bus gripping component in an emergency
•
Beeper for providing feedback on operating states
•
Button for activating the Bluetooth function
2.9 Rechargeable Battery
The rechargeable battery (Fig. 1, item 1) consists of Li-ion cells with integrated electronics. This protects the bat
tery against short circuits, overvoltage, undervoltage and charging outside the allowable temperature range.
3 Application
3.1 Indications for Use
The AxonArm Hybrid 12K500 and the AxonArm Ergo 12K501 may only be used exclusively for exoprosthetic fit
tings of the upper limbs.
3.2 Orthotist / Prosthetist Qualifications
Fitting a patient with the AxonArm may only be carried out by prosthetists who have been authorised by Ottobock
after completion of a corresponding training course.
3.3 Conditions of Use
The AxonArm was developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities. These unusual activities
include, for example, sports with excessive strain and/or shocks to the wrist unit (pushups, downhill, mountain bik
ing) or extreme sports (free climbing, paragliding, etc.).
The applicable environmental conditions are described in the technical data.
The AxonArm is intended for use by one user only. Use of the product by another person is not approved by the
manufacturer.
3.4 Application Area
The AxonArm is intended solely for use with components of the Axon-Bus prosthethic system. It can be used for
unilateral or bilateral amputees from a transhumeral amputation level to shoulder disarticulation.
