5. PREPARING THE EXAMINATION

5.1. STARTING THE SYSTEM

Press the power button on the back of hyperion MRT / hyperion at the base of the column to turn it on.
The power button is labelled as follows:

5.2. SELECTING THE PROCEDURE

The selected group is indicated by an arrow on the left side of the screen.
These buttons are used to scroll the projections available within the selected group.

5.3. STEPS TO FOLLOW DURING AN EXAMINATION

1- Select the diagnostic program (par. 5.2);
2- Prepare the bite, the required supports and protective devices;
3- Press button (reset)
4- Adjust the height of the unit,
5- Let the patient in;
6- Position the patient on the bite or undernose support or chin rest*;
7- Adjust the horizontal light trace*;
8- Adjust the nape inclination by regulating the height of the unit one small step at a time;
9- Close the temple supports;
10- Adjust the nape symmetry so that the light trace matches with the medial-sagittal plane*;
11- Position the vertical light trace which locates the focal ridge*;
12- Visually check the final position and press "Reset" to move the rotary unit to the examination start position;
13- In order to start the emission, press the x-ray button
* = skip this step for cephalometric examinations

5.4. PATIENT POSITIONING

The unit moves when the following operations are performed. The operator must:
- Closely monitor the patient and immediately release the button to stop movement if there is a risk of
the device hitting the patient;
- Prevent the patient from assuming incorrect positions (putting hands or other body parts in
inappropriate areas) or moving out of the examination area.
Make certain the machine is always in its home position before attempting to position the patient or start any
exposure program.
In the event that hyperion is not in its home position, press button
near the equipment and wait until the machine is in the correct position and has stopped moving.
Press button (reset) again to interrupt movement.
