Remember to change the disposable protective covers before positioning a new patient.
Before positioning the patient, make sure all metal items worn have been taken off such as eyeglasses,
movable prosthesis, earrings and any other removable metal items present at head level. If an apron is used
for protection against radiation, make sure the patient's neck is not covered. If it is, an area will not be x-
rayed.

The bite to be used for this group of examinations is shown in figure 1. A chin
rest support is also available (see figure 2), which can be used if you need to
improve the stability of uncooperative patients or to support toothless
patients. The only fixed reference is the bite (figure 1), while the chin rest
(figure 2), whose use is optional, can slide vertically to adapt to the height of
the chin.

If the patient has front dentition, loosen the knob that blocks the chin rest so
that it moves down, then tighten the knob again to block the bite.
