• Reduce the throttlesettingduring enginerun-outand, if
the engine is providedwith a shut-offvalve,turnthe fuel
off at the conclusionof mowing.
IV. Maintenance and Storage
Keep all nuts,boltsand screwsfightto besurethe equip-
ment is in safe workingcondition.
Never store the equipment with petrolin the tank inside
a building where fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
Allow the engine to cool before storingin any enclo-
sure.
• To reducethe fire hazard,keepthe engine,silencer,bat-
tery compartment and petrolstoragearea free of grass,
leaves, or excessivegrease.
• Check the grass catcher frequentlyfor wear or dete-
rioration.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done
outdoors.
• On multi-bladed machines, t akecare asrotating oneblade
can cause otherbladesto rotate.
When machine is to be perked, stored or lett unattended,
lower the cutting means unless a positivemechanical lock
is used.
_WARNING: Always disconnect spark plug wirs and
place wire where it cannot contact spark plug in
order to prevent accidental starting when setting
up, transporting, adjusting or making repairs.
