6.9 Interpretation of results

The quality grades allow you to assess the reliability of the measurement result. Quality grades A to C
indicate a reliable result. A quality grade of D or F indicates inadequate test quality. The result must
then be interpreted with caution. You can either print out the report immediately with (ENTER) or click
on the DATA button to view the result on the display as soon as you see message "Session Complete!
Great Job!" after performing a test.
Measured values below the lower limit values are shown in red on the report and explicitly indicated
with * and a footnote. EasyOne-CS also offers an automatic interpretation aid. Please refer to Chapter 0
for further information on this interpretation function. It is possible to deactivate both the "Automated
QC" and "Syst. Interpret" functions.

6.10 Definition of the parameters

Below is a list of available parameters, with their definitions:

Forced Expiratory Volume (6 sec)
FEV1/FVC
Ratio of FEV1 to FVC
FEV1/VC
Ratio of FEV1 to VC taken from SVC test
FEV1/FEV6
Ratio of FEV1 to FEV6

Mid Expiratory Flow at 75% of exp. Vital Capacity
MEF 50
Mid Expiratory Flow at 50% of exp. Vital Capacity
MEF 75
Mid Expiratory Flow at 25% of exp. Vital Capacity
MEF 25-75
Mid Expiratory Flow between 75% and 25% of exp. Vital Capacity

...reproducibility of the
spirometry maneuvers.
FVC or FEV1 not repro-
ducible
...quality of the entire test
The test differs greatly from the previous tests. The
patient can inhale even more deeply and exhale even
more air.
The test is complete. An adequate number of good spi-
rometry maneuvers has been achieved.
