5.8.2 ADJUSTING THE VALVE (EMG
10/15/25/35)
Close the shut-off valve on the gas supply
circuit and switch off the appliance. Re-
move the upper rear panel from the machine
as shown in the exploded diagrams in the
last section of this manual.
This gives access to the compartment which
houses the gas heating unit. The gas con-
trol solenoid valve is located to the right of
the unit, and is identical to the valve shown
in the figure.
Proceed as follows to modify the pressure
of the gas supply to the machine:
1) Remove the safety screw which closes
the pressure gauge coupling down-
stream of the solenoid valve (see figure,
pos. 1).
2) Fit a pressure gauge to the coupling.
3) Remove the aluminium safety screw
which is hidden beneath the pressure
regulation screw of the plastic valve
(pos. 3).
4) Open the gas supply cut-off valve and
switch on the machine.
5) During ignition of the burner, adjust the
pressure indicated on the pressure gauge
to the desired value (refer to the table
listing the correct pressures for each
type of gas). Turn slowly clockwise to
increase the pressure, or anti-clockwise
to decrease the pressure.
6) If the machine operates using liquid pro-
pane gas (G30-G31), commonly known
as LPG, the valve must be completely
open. In other words, the screw must be
fully tightened.
Description of the valve:
1) Coupling for pressure gauge which in-
dicates the pressure at the burner. The
coupling is closed by a safety screw
which must be removed when measur-
ing the pressure, and MUST ALWAYS
BE REPLACED AFTER ADJUSTING
THE VALVE.
2) Coupling for the pressure gauge which
indicates the pressure of the gas supply
circuit. The coupling is closed by a
safety screw which must be removed
when measuring the pressure, and
MUST ALWAYS BE REPLACED AF-
TER ADJUSTING THE VALVE.
3) Screw for modification of the pressure
downstream of the valve, located be-
neath an aluminium locking screw.
4) Mains gas entry side.
5) Side from which the gas exits the valve.
5.8.3 ADJUSTING THE VALVE (EM 55)
1) Install a manometer connection on the
pipe leading from the valve.
2) Insert an Allen wrench into the bottom
of the valve. Turn the wrench clock-
wise to decrease the pressure or anti-
clockwise to increase it until the required
value is reached.
In any event, make sure that:
The flame is blue in colour.
The burners are lit along their entire length.
When the unit is first turned on or is re-
started after a long shutdown, the start-up
procedure must be performed a number of
times until the gas fills the entire delivery
pipe and reaches the valve.
ATTENTION
Gas dryers cannot be installed in the
same room with dry cleaning machines
since burnt gasses can react with dry
cleaning chemicals and create mixtures
that are toxic to persons and corrosive to
materials.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE OPERA-
TOR
6. INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE
MACHINE

6.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE

The machine is composed of the following
principal parts:
1) A cover panel which protects the con-
17
trol and power systems.
2) A front panel, behind which are located
the control circuitry (board) and safety
systems.
3) A rear panel, behind which are located
the suction unit, the heating array, and
the belts, pulleys and motors that drive
the drum.
4) A lower panel, which provides access
to the lint filter.
5) Air intake.
6) Door.
7) Control panel.

6.2 RANGE OF APPLICATIONS

The dryer you have purchased is designed
to dry a wide range of fabrics including
wool, cotton and linen.
The temperature must be properly set to suit
the type of fabric being dried.
Make sure the care label on the garment
shows the symbol which indicates that a
rotary machine dryer can be used.
6.3 INFORMATION ON THE ELECTRI-
CAL SYSTEM
The electrical system on the machine is
composed of safety and control systems that
are installed on a circuit board located at
the upper right on the machine.
The electrical diagrams and components
lists are included in this manual.
6.4 DOCUMENTS CERTIFYING CON-
FORMANCE WITH STANDARDS AND
REGULATIONS
The rotary dryer described in this manual
conforms to the following regulations:
Gas directive 90/396/EEC
Low voltage directive 73/23/EEC
Electromagnetic compatibility directive
89/336/EEC
Machinery directive 89/392/EEC
Manufactured products directive 89/106/
EEC
7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
7.1 OPERATION
Turn on the master switch to supply power
to the machine. Open the gate valves on
the gas or steam and condensation lines.
The residual moisture content of the wet
laundry must not exceed 120%. Buttons,
zip/zap zippers, snaps and belt buckles
