should be covered or pointed inwards. Do
not use high temperatures when drying gar-
ments with seams sewn using synthetic
thread, with printed designs or with plastic
parts.
Make sure the emergency button on the
machine is not pushed in. If it is, rotate the
top of the button clockwise and it will pop
out.
On coin operated machines, follow the pro-
cedures contained in the manual for this type
of machine.
On standard machines, the control panel will
turn on within a few seconds.
The selected cycle is shown on the single-
digit right-hand display.
The central, two-digit display can show ei-
ther the end-of heating-cycle parameter (in
minutes on standard machines, or in per-
centage of residual moisture on dryers
equipped with residual moisture detection)
or the cooling time in minutes.
The configuration of the end-of-heating-
step parameter is set when the machine is
assembled. The decimal point on the dis-
play is lit when percentage of residual mois-
ture is the end-of-heating-step parameter.
The drum temperature is shown on the
three-digit left-hand display.
When the machine is turned on, cycle dis-
play shows 0.
The machine is equipped with a choice of
10 programmed cycles (from 0 to 10). Nine
of these programs have been programmed
at the factory, and one program (0) is de-
signed to be programmed by the user as
needed.
In any event, all the programs can be modi-
fied by the user to suit individual needs.
The programs run in three steps: heating,
cooling and waiting for unloading.
During the heating step, air heated to the
maximum temperature set for the selected
cycle passes through the laundry and
changes the water it contains into steam,
which is discharged through the exhaust
duct together with burnt gasses.
During the cooling step, the air is not heated
and the temperature of the hot laundry is
reduced until the end of the cycle. The cool-
ing step is very important because it pre-
vents the formation of folds and wrinkles
that are hard to iron out. This operation is
called "permanent press".
During the "waiting for unloading" step, the
drum turns for 30 seconds every 10 min-
utes (without heating) until the door is
opened.
This precaution prevents the weight exerted
on the bottom of the laundry pile in the drum
from creating folds and wrinkles that are
hard to iron out.
Changing the selected program
Every time the P key is pressed, the number
of the program shown on the right-hand dis-
play increases by one until the display
reaches 9. The 0 program then appears and
the selection process starts over.
The end-of-heating-step parameter for the
selected program appears on the central dis-
play.
The left-hand display displays the pre-set
maximum temperature parameter for two
seconds, and then the current value in the
drum again appears.
When the cooling key is pressed, the cen-
tral display shows the cooling time.
When the heating key is pressed, the cen-
tral display shows the end-of-heating-step
parameter.
When the temperature key is pressed, the
maximum programmed temperature ap-
pears for two seconds, and the current tem-
perature in the drum then appears.
When the door is closed, the start key can
be used to start the cycle, and the param-
eters for the selected program are used.
When the machine first starts, it begins to
draw in air, the drum begins to turn, the LED
in the start button lights up, the left-hand
display shows current drum temperature and
the central display shows the end-of heat-
ing-cycle parameter.
Heating is interrupted when the pre-set tem-
perature is reached and resumes when the
temperature falls 2°C below the pre-set tem-
perature. The LED in the heating key lights
up when the heating system is on.
When the heating step ends, the cooling step
begins. The time in minutes until the end
of the cycle appears on the central display
and the left-hand display shows drum tem-
perature.
During operation, the heating, cooling and
temperature keys can be pressed to display
the pre-set end-of-heating-step parameter,
cooling time and maximum temperature on
the respective displays. The values appear
on the displays as long as the keys are held
down.
If the door or the filter access door is opened
during machine operation, the machine will
shut down. When the door or access door
are then closed, the LED in the start key
18
will flash until the key is pressed. The timer
does not stop during this pause in opera-
tion.
At the end of the cycle, an audible alarm
sounds for 15 seconds, the displays begin
to flash, and the central and left-hand dis-
plays are zeroed until the door is opened.
During this step, the drum rotates 30 sec-
onds every 10 minutes.
To change or reprogram the cycle, shut off
the machine and turn it back on; or, hold
the door open and press the start key for 3
seconds.
7.2 PROGRAMMING THE OPERATING
CYCLES
To vary the parameters in the programmed
cycles, use the P key until the cycle you wish
to modify is shown on the right-hand dis-
play. Now, follow these instructions.
Hold down (for more than 3 seconds) the
key for the parameter you wish to vary:
maximum heating temperature, cooling
time or end-of-heating-step parameter (heat-
ing time or residual moisture). The LED in
the key you have pressed will begin to flash,
which signals that the system is in the pro-
gram mode. The left-hand display shows
the maximum heating temperature (which
can be set from 30 to 140°C),and the cen-
tral display shows the end-of-heating-step
parameter (time can be set from 1 to 99
minutes, or residual moisture from 5 to
50%) or the cooling time (which can be set
from 1 to 99 minutes).
Now, use the increase (+) or decrease (-)
keys to set the desired value.
Press the increase (+) or decrease (-) keys
once to vary the parameter by 1 unit, or hold
down the key for more than 1 second to vary
the parameter automatically by 1 unit per
second until the key is released.
To store the new parameter, again press the
key for the selected parameter, which is sig-
nalled by a flashing LED.
If a new parameter is not stored within 5
seconds from the last change in its value,
the display will show the original param-
eter for 2 seconds and the system will then
automatically exit from the programming
mode (the LED in the key will stop flash-
ing).
The configuration of the end-of-heating-
step parameter (temperature or residual
moisture) can only be set at the factory.
