2.3.7.2. Permanent supply mode jumper (RES 9.5 EC and RES 13 EC)

A jumper establishing contact between the P7-1 and P7-2 pins of the controller enable it to be permanently supplied with electricity.
See figure 2.26. All controllers are supplied with the jumper fitted to ensure this permanent supply.
The P7 connecter may be a 2-pin or 3-pin connector. Remove the jumper or place it on the P7-2 and P7-3 pins to enable the
controller to be switched off automatically 48 hours after the generating set is switched off, provided that the generating set's main
switch is set to "AUTO". The controller can be switched back on via a remote start signal (sent by a changeover switch or a remote
on/off switch connected to wires 3 and 4 of the controller), or by setting the generating set's main switch to "RUN".
Note: For the majority of applications, it is not necessary to deactivate the permanent supply mode. The RES 9.5 EC and
RES 13 EC model generating sets are factory fitted with a battery charger to avoid the battery discharging.
Apply the following procedure to disconnect the jumper, if required.
Procedure for deactivating permanent supply mode (optional), figure 2.26.
1. Take all necessary measures to prevent the generating set from starting.
a. Move the main switch on the generating set to "OFF/RESET".
b. Isolate the battery charger from its electrical power supply.
c. Disconnect the generating set engine starter battery, negative (-) lead first.
2. Remove the controller from its unit in the generating set.
a. Disconnect the P1 plug (35-pin) from the controller for the engine wiring harness connector. Disconnect connectors J15 and
J16.
b. Remove the controller from its unit in the generating set to access the rear panel.
3. Remove the rear panel from the controller to access the jumper.
a. Mark the 3 wires connected to the generating set's main switch to ensure they can be correctly reconnected afterwards.
Disconnect the wires to the pink connectors.
b. Extract the bolt from the rear panel of the controller and remove it completely.
4. Locate the P7 connector, at the top of the controller. Disconnect the jumper from pins 1 and 2 of the P7 connector. If the P7
connector is a 3-pin connector, reconnect the jumper to pins 2 and 3, as a temporary measure, so as to not misplace it.
5. Refit the rear panel of the controller and retighten the bolts.
6. Reconnect the 3 pink connectors to the generating set's main switch.
7. Reconnect connectors J15 and J16.
8. Reconnect the generating set engine starter battery, negative (-) lead last.
9. Switch back on the electrical power supply to the battery charger.
10. Move the main switch on the generating set to "AUTO".
