4.1.3.4.2. Procedure for draining the engine oil RES 18 EC / RES 16 TEC

Drain the oil while it is still warm.
1. Drain the oil.
a. Lift the generating set bonnet.
b. Unscrew the two retaining screws of the side panel.
c. Remove the side panel from the enclosure.
d. Move the main switch on the generating set to "OFF".
e. Isolate the battery charger from its electrical power supply.
f. Disconnect the generating set engine starter battery, negative (-) lead first.
g. Clean the area around the dipstick and the oil filler cap.
h. Unclip the oil drain pipe from its mounting. Remove the plug from the oil drain pipe and insert the pipe in a container to
collect the oil.
i. Open the oil drain tap on the engine.
j. Remove the dipstick and the oilfiller cap. Allow sufficient time for the oil to drain completely.
k. Close the oil drain tap.
l. Plug the oil drain pipe. Clip the oil drain pipe back onto its mounting.
m. Replace the dipstick.
