3.1.2 Controller keyboard
The three keys on the keypad of the controller are "Select", "Up" and "Down".
When the generating set is running, the "Up" and "Down" arrow keys can be used to step through system data displays as shown
on figure 3.4. After 10 seconds, the displays goes back to engine hours of operation.
The keys on the keypad of the controller are only used to configure the system and to modify the system settings. The system is
preconfigured in the factory and, in principle, requires no modification under normal operating conditions. If certain settings require
modification, contact an approved distributor/retailer or maintenance technician.
3.1.3 Generating set main switch
The generating set main switch is located on the junction box below the ADC 2100 or ADC-RES user interface. The main switch
positions are "RUN", "OFF/RESET" and "AUTO". See sections 3.2 and 3.3 for operation instructions.
3.2. Generating set start-up
Manual starting
To start the generating set immediately, move the main switch to "RUN".
Automatic starting
To authorise starting via an automatic changeover switch or a remote on/off switch (if fitted to the installation) set the main switch to
"AUTO". Close a contact across engine start wires 3 and 4 to signal the controller to start the generating set.
Starting cycle
The controller makes three attempts to start the generating set (3 starting cycles; each cycle comprises 15 seconds of starter
operation followed by a 15-second pause). See figure 3.3 for display information during the srtarting cycle. If the generating set
rd
does not start on the 3
attempt, the fault causes the system to shut down (number of starting cycles exceeded). See section 3.5.
