Fuel conversion procedure (figure 2.20)
1. Open the door of the enclosure.
2. Move the main switch on the generating set to "OFF".
3. Isolate the battery charger from its electrical power supply.
4. Disconnect the generating set engine starter battery, negative (-) lead first.
5. Close off the fuel supply.
6. Loosen the clamp then disconnect the flexible hose from the union on the supply unit.
7. Remove the natural gas outlet opening flexible hose union from the supply unit (no. 4)
8. Remove the LP opening blanking cover from the supply unit (no. 5). Clean the blanking cover with a dry cloth or a brush,
applying a locking/sealing product to the threading, and then screwing the blanking cover back into the natural gas outlet
opening.
9. Clean the flexible hose union with a dry cloth or a brush, applying a locking/sealing product to the threading, and then
screwing the union back into the LP outlet opening.
10. Slide the flexible hose into the union and secure it using the clamp.
11. For RES 13 EC and RES 12 TEC models only: connect all the wires of the DSAI (Digital Spark Advance Ignition) advanced
module for natural gas. (Disconnect the wires for LP). See figure 2.21.
12. Connect the new fuel circuit and open the supply.
13. Check that the generating set's main switch is set to "OFF".
14. Reconnect the generating set engine starter battery leads, negative (-) lead last.
15. Switch back on the electrical power supply to the battery charger.
16. Start the generating set; to do this, move the main switch to "RUN".
17. Check that there are no gas leaks using a leak detector.
18. Run the generating set and check the operation. Use the controller to adjust the output and stability if necessary.
19. Move the main switch on the generating set to "OFF/RESET" to switch off the generating set.
20. Close the door of the enclosure.
