Smooth Roller (fi g.48)
This roller is used to prepare soil for vegetables crops, producing
a fl at and compact surface that makes it easier to work with other
seed planting machines or laying nylon ground covering.

Combipacker Roller (fi g.49)
Combipacker roller is used with combined seed drills, the great
diameter of the cylinder allows to better roll on great quantities of
residue and on marked soil profi le hollows. This roller has great
soil contact, thanks to specifi cally designed rings: seeding depth
can be thus easily kept constant for an optimal, uniform plant emer-
gence. Roller must be matched with seeding row number (125 or
150 mm spacing).

4.13 ROLLER-SCRAPER PLATES
The soil scraper has the scraper plates (1 fi g.50) made of wearproof
material to clean caked soil from the roller.
They are installed on shaped supports fi xed to the rear bar of the
roller.
Correct assembly is achieved by mounting the scraper plates on
the soil scraper, and tightening the bolt (1 fi g.51) to fi x the plate to
the desired distance from the roller.
For rubber rollers the recommended distance between the scraper
plate and the roller is 7/10 mm, for other rollers it is 2/3 mm (fi g.52).
It is advisable to adjust the roller scraper plates during the
fi rst 100-150 m of work, nearing them gradually to the roller
to exercise a perfect cleaning operation.
4.14 GEARSHIFT
The machine is equipped with central single speed gearbox (1
fi g.53) and two lateral four speed gearboxes (2 fi g.53) with one pair
of gears. A variety of rotation speeds of the rotor can be obtained
so that the needs of the operator can be better met.
It is very useful for land which is uneven in that it makes rotary hoe-
ing easy and at the same time allows the tractor to be maintained
at a constant speed.
To change tiller speed you must:
1) Remove the rear grid of the gearbox by unscrewing the fi xing
bolts.(1-2-3 fi g.54)
2) Remove the fan by unscrewing the fi xing bolts (4-5 fi g.55).
2) Remove the carter by unscrewing the fi xing bolts (6-7-8 fi g.56).
