Lower the foot section of support surface over
the foot box . Attach the support surface to the
bed frame using the support surface tie-downs .
9 .
Apply linens utilizing the "D" rings for the flat
sheet .
10 . To secure linens (a), to support surface (b), thread
four corners through "D" Rings (c) attached to
support surface as shown in the diagram to the
right .
11 . To ensure proper therapy, do not pull linens
taut . The linens should remain loose and
wrinkly on the surface of the support surface .
12 . Plug the power cord for the support surface
into the FL27 InTouch foot end outlet .
WARNING
• The support surface is equipped with a
hospital grade plug for protection against
shock hazard . It must be plugged directly into
the FL27 InTouch three-prong receptacle .
Grounding reliability can be achieved only
when a hospital grade receptacle is used .
• Do not attach the power cord to any moving parts
of the bed frame .
• To avoid possible injury confirm proper scale
system operation following support surface
installation . For best results, secure the XPRT™
therapeutic support surface power cord to prevent
damage to the cord and interference with the bed
frame and the scale system .
• Ensure the power cord is routed to the side of
the bed and not out the foot end of the bed (refer
to figures on the right) . If routed improperly, the
power cord may become pinched and could cause

Note:
After the support surface power cord is
plugged into a power source, if the cable adapter
2950-001-180 is disconnected or the FL27 InTouch
controller is not responding, the support surface will
beep to alert the user .
